Hurricane Irene is moving toward a probable landfall along the coast of North Carolina. The United States military, along with the National Guards of the East Coast states and the U.S. Coast Guard are preparing. Disaster relief assets are being pre-positioned. Ships and aircraft that may be vulnerable to the storm are being moved to safety.
