Closing The Old Barn Door!

A couple of months back, as you know, I helped to clean out a group of derelicts from a field along side of the huge apartment complex that my son, daughter-in-law and grandkids live in here in San Diego County!

In this effort, I had multiple contacts with the management company that runs the show [until pressure was applied, the site manager even refused to allow police access to the lot in question - for reasons unknown?], the San Diego Police Department, the City Council, and even a friend within the TV media!

Now I fully realize [and even sympathize] with the plight of the homeless, having myself been close to this predicament at times, but that vacant lot that I mentioned above was strewn with excrement, trash, booze bottles, and at least one hypodermic syringe that I could see! As for the apartment complex itself, there are many kids there, and the bottom floor windows are easily accessible from the outside!

Well, to make a long story short, with the Crow, Smart, Van Dam, Ramsey, and a plethora of other lethal cases of this nature in the news of late, only a damned fool would not be concerned or take precautions to deter the potential of a replay of these tragic incidents, if you get my drift? After all, the powers that be [police, government and media alike] seem to be somewhat indigent until after the fact, and even then, the criminal is often treated like he (or she) is the victim of society!

And yet, ever with the incidents that I just mentioned, many [if not most] still cower about, are afraid to speak up or take affirmative [legal] action, or even to scream up a storm to prevent such tragedies, if needs must!! The criminal, however, is afforded every avenue to escape retribution! There are no such amenities for the victims of course, as their hands are tied by the very system that they support!! The law-abiding citizen is forced by vested laws to merely stand about like crippled cattle until a crime occurs, usually one that was visible to the ?Powers That Be? even before the fact!

?Well, I had no such feeble compunctions!? I yelled, swore, called every entity who is tasked with public welfare and safety, and do you know what - ?Those bums are back again in all of their soiled and fouly-odoriferous glory, and maybe even with the blessing or knowledge of the Apartment management and police department?

Of course, the constabulary, apartment management, city government, and the blind mice who reside thereabouts, will deny any knowledge of this situation should anyone fall prey to any perverted scum-bag in their area, as is most always the case! "Above all, protecting their own backsides so to speak!"

With a system that is often geared to protect the felon before the victim, or to react instead of act [within the law of course], why in the hell do we bother. Why not just open our doors, throw open our borders, demolish the prisons and declare open season upon the law-abiding and the innocent?

Granted, law enforcement has its hands full, but unless someone takes a stand, anarchy, financial ruin, and yes, even our very freedoms, safety, and lives are at risk!

The only question left is - ?DOES ANYONE REALLY GIVE A DAMN ANY MORE?? I for one am beginning to doubt it!!

Of course, let some alien nation or hostile entity get a splinter up his rear, or fall prey to a larger dog because of his own stupidity, and We The People immediately go to war! But let one of our own kids, our elderly, our middle class, or our military fall into harm?s way, and the media is replete with bleeding hearts, political tail kissers, and malignant mentalities, all of whom seem eager and willing to champion the grotesque!!

?Is this not how Rome fell??

?Now you all can go back to sleep!!? The next song that you hear, just could be our own funeral dirge! [AMEN]
