Default Cindy Sheehan

Cindy Sheehan, son is turning over in his grave..
Her son en-listed in the service , like so many did to be able to go to college.. As a WW2 veteran ,we did the same thing. My mother did not go out saying FDR started that war. Even when my brother was KIA with 101st airborne. Where is her son father?
If we did what Cindy wants us to do, her sun died in vain and we all would be under Terrorists Control. CINDY wake up the latest pole said 80 % think you are wrong, so you are among the 20 % radicals.

I regret this ladies loss and all Mother's like her. They are in pain and no Mother wants to loose her children. She's having a tough time dealing with the reality of loosing her kid.

Her Son gave his life in the service of his country. On the line where many won't tread. He did a noble thing and like many before him he gave his life for the cause.

Sheehan should watch 9/11 again or other so called unfavorite incidents that took many souls. Her perspective is dampened by her grief and she's not going to let loose of this issue.

It's only going to continue as long as the media gives her fuel and prime time. Once more I regret her loss but this isn't going to change the reality of it.

It's way after the fact and way too late to do anything like this. She should have been out there when her kid signed up and she should have been doing this while he was there but its only after they loose someone do you see the reality set in.

Lot's of Mother's have been there - they are not happy but many are proud of the contributions their child gave in the cause of duty. She will in time begin the healing process and hopefully give her Son credit for decision to take up arms in defense of this country of ours.

As James and I stated on another thread, it's Cindy Sheehan's business what she wants to do with her son's memory. But, I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that her son wouldn't agree with her making him out to be a victim. I say this as someone who willingly joined the Army, volunteered to become a paratrooper, and volunteered to go to Vietnam. It's my understanding that he re-enlisted to go to Iraq. Now, she can disagree with his decision and think it's one of the stupider things he did in his life [my parents did at the time], and, like many of us [not me], he might agree with her. But I'm sure he wouldn't consider himself a victim.

It would be different if there was a draft, but everyone over there has volunteered to be in the military in one capacity or another. This is the first American war, that I'm aware of, that's been fought by an all-volunteer military. It's true that not all of them volunteered to be sent to a combat zone [been there, done that, on my second tour]. But if you're going to accept the responsibilities required to join the military, you have to also accept the possibility that you might be called upon to do so. And if you are, it's your job and duty to go where ever the military decides to send you. You can't pick and choose the assignments that you will or won't accept. But you don't have to like it and, as a soldier, it's your inalienable right to bitch about it.

Cindy Sheehan isn't the first mother who, in her grief of the loss, has blamed the Commander-In-Chief directly for that loss. Every wartime president has been confronted like this, from Lincoln to Johnson, and beyond.
