No, this little diatribe has nothing to do with Gomer Pyle, USMC, but rather with the numerous base closures around the nation and their impact upon local economies, as well as other things!

Well lo and behold and Golly, even with the plethora of base shutdowns, one State came out smelling of roses, or is that greenbacks - care to make a guess as to which State that is? ?Could it be that a little ?Down Home Nepotism? was mixed into the decision-making matrix in this respect??

But maybe not, says a noted U.S. Senator from the Lone Star. After all and these are his words not mine: ?WE HAVE A BIG BACK DOOR TO PROTECT!!? Now whatever (or whomever) could he mean by that?

Today?s news also reported that cars in Iraq are now being stripped of their trunk lids to prevent bombings in that neck of the woods. Well, if the shared concerns of that Texas Senator are true, then maybe they should also mandate that the trunk lids of all U.S./Mexico - cross-border traffic also be removed? Better yet, why not start manufacturing autos out of space age, transparent plastic. In that fashion, border checks can be rendered far more easy and thorough!

Naw, Vicente would never go for that, unless of course, we agree to turn back over to him the States of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California as a good-will gesture first!? And actually, that is great idea, but only if he agrees first - to take over the California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas deficits, and starts to personally support all of the illegal Mexican Nationals who are already over here!
