MacArthur / Truman Question
I am looking for some information and hopefully a photo of the Change of Command Ceremony that took place on April 11, 1951. My question is, when Truman relieved MacArthur of his command and promoted Ridgeway, where did this ceremony take place? Was it in Korea or was MacArthur still in Japan. I have found a photo of MacArthur leaving Japan in April but I cannot find out anything else. Any help is appreciated and if anyone knows where I can find some photos, I appreciate that too.
Thanks. JR |

I know that Gen MacArthur met with President Truman in Guam, but I don't think that's what is was for. Truman was there I guess for an update on the war. He also gave Gen MacArthur a medal, think it was the DSC.

in writing. Ridgeway was in Korea and went to Japan, taking over as MC was hauling his A#*, back to the states.
