Default The poetry of process...

Ode to the Bureaucrat

Bureaucrat, shmirocrat; rickety gig
Ability to see daylight, or is the agency too big?

Ask only questions to fill-in the block
Meanwhile the country goes deeper into hock.

Goal of the project, lost in the mess
Indifference for all, but ?we completed the process?

Solutions are at hand and at the tip of the tongue
Never to be spoken, for a pay raise is on the next rung

Status quo malaise is quite a warm blanket
Dissent on my watch? Well about your pension; I?ll yank-it

Wrap your actions in Old Glory with pride
Meanwhile your kid?s future continues to slide

As the paychecks comes in and cashed with haste
How much time did you really waste?

Patriotism for a few is a duty, yes a call
Life given by some, freedom for all

Where does one stand in the fight for the dream,
Out on the bow or in the mainstream?

In darkness or light, come what may
Love for America, just won?t go away

Seek not today but eternal glory
Never attempt it without the True story

Tyranny of kings, dictators and men
Process and apathy, tell me the difference then

Freedom?s pure ring obscured by excess
Arlington Cemetery? ?Full measure? no less

How in the end will your life read
Duty, honor, country, or more handouts I need?

Default Hardball...

Even though unarguable that in many cases: "Truth is stranger than fiction",...I honestly can't see where such truths and realities of The Ode could even be considered; "Mean-spirited Right-wing poetry"?

Hey,...truth is truth is truth. It just simply shouldn't matter or not whether career-Schnoorers (ie. those surviving and living quite well from the labors of others) and/or those living well off of The POLITICAL DOLE (re. entire Public Sector, needy Citizens, and even many foreigners) find such truths offensive. Only THE PAYERS of many such and uniquely American absurdities should be offended.

After all, isn't perpetual feigned caring mainly for political advantage and perpetually forcing The American Taxpayer to generously keep paying through-the-nose for many such absurdities over and over and over,...WHAT TRULY SHOULD BE CONSIDERED: "Mean-spirited" (offensive also)???????

Besides,...why-the-hell-is-it that mostly no one in authority ever seems to be concerned about The Average American Citizen, The American Taxpayer and/or THE PAYER FOR EVERYTHING? I personally find such a routine and cavalier disregard by Officialdom as: "Mean-spirited" (offensive also),...or as; "Cruel and Unusual Punishment" as it gets.

Hope that EVEN The American Taxpayer will ALSO become concerned about by Officialdom and/or politicos,...eventually?

Neil

Default Mean-spirited Right-wing poetry...

It's a tongue-in-cheek thing....

The Left is notorious for labeling all Conservative positions as "Mean-spirited"...

Most of my some-odd-dozen poems are of a patriotic theme... and to me, conservative in nature...

So by the Left's logic, they are inherently mean-spirited.

Example: the following is about the First Amendment of the Connie.

Ratified as ?First?

Congress on notice, a bold warning penned down,
State Church a punisher! Didn?t you learn from that Crown?

Make no law establishing such folly to arise,
Oh how history taught our Founders to be so wise.

?Make no law?, was fought for as key,
For even elected representatives, can deny blessed Liberty.

Freedom of Speech, so sublime and yet ironic,
Words straight from God, or simply demonic.

Allow spoken word, or suffer history?s mess,
Secure this on parchment, via the free press.

How can Freedom live if human assembly denied?
Arguments for truth; Have Governments ever lied?

Redress of Grievances so too were provided,
Government designed and built, must always remain divided.

Just keep writing, and thereby aggravating the Left! Perhaps we should consider adopting you into the Dirty Dozen!

Sincerely yours,

Brice, aka, Hill Country of Texas Grand Potentate of the Mean Spirited Chapter of the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy.
