Default Christmas story for our troops

Here's a great story to share with our troops overseas. While we often feel we're in the belly of the beast, liberal media wise, I've been very pleased with local news coverage. This is a great project for the Troop's families and PDN is happy to have helped with media relations as our small part of the effort. It's featured on our front page at: http://www.patriotwatch.com From there, local families can get directions and there is a link to the Bee story.

While they wouldn't credit the conservative sponsors, California Republican Veterans of America, for the project, the Sacramento Bee did publish a nice spread on Rodney's CRVA project. The first delivery occurred today, thanks to the US Air Force. Rodney is a proud former Navy man looking out for military families torn apart by deployment.

After reading an article in The Bee about the plight of military families, Rodney Stanhope lived in a storage shed for 12 days to raise money and gather toys.Rodney Stanhope's storage shed at Sunrise Marketplace is full of donated toys he plans to give to families of military personnel. He has collected what he estimates to be $40,000 in toys.

From our PDN family to you and yours, the very best of Holiday Greetings and wishes for a prosperous New Year.

TOYS for TROOP'S KIDS UPDATE

The project will be a wrap at 6:00 PM today. Toys and checks are still pouring in.

The US Air Force and an AMRY pickup just finished collecting another FULL load, bringing the total upwards of $150,000 in toys. A 100+ piece Barbi Doll collection will be auctioned off in the near future by a military wives support group to help with financial assistance for displaced military families.

This selfless project went a long way to make some of our military families a little happier this Christmas. Rondey Stanhope and his fellow California Republican Veterans of American put a new meaning in the 12 Days of Christmas. Let's pray it's for some other worthwhile charity next year and that all our troops will be back home with their loved ones.
