Saddam Had Pledged Not to be Taken Alive

Saddam Hussein had pledged not to be taken alive, a top Iraqi military man claimed before the his old boss was captured without a fight hiding in a "spider hole" in a rural farmhouse near Tikrit.

Discussing Saddam's capture with WABC Radio's Steve Malzberg, former Green Beret-turned-Fox News military analyst Bob Bevelacqua recounted a conversation he had with a two star Iraqi general during a recent trip to Iraq.

"Saddam Hussein had personally told this guy that he was going to blow his brains out before the Americans got access to him," Bevelacqua said.

Hussein had two AK-47s and a pistol on him at the time of his capture, but never attempted to kill either himself or the approaching GIs from the U.S. Fourth Infantry Division.

"The fact that he did have weapons on him, it just goes to show you that the man absolutely is a coward," Bevelacqua told Malzberg.

Sadam should be treated in accordance with the Geneva Convention and tried by convention rules of international law for the crimes that he has committed against humanity. A humanity that he represented yet tortured and murdered. Since this gentleman who lived lavishly in many palaces throughout his rein voluntarily chose to live in a hole in the ground while in exile, a ?spider pit? must be to his liking and he should be returned to that hole.
Now take a platoon of the most obnoxious, (and proud of it), American 11B infantrymen and billet them directly on top of that hole. Feed those troops only foods that produce gaseous fumes otherwise known as FARTS. Those intestinal discharges should be vented away from the billets through the spider pit. The 4-inch vent line should be opened at one side of Sadams residence to assure that he gains full benefit of those excoriates. A smaller, 1-inch vent line can be placed from that hole in the ground reassure that Sadam has the proper flow of atmosphere through his quarters and is not suffocated due to the lack of oxygen.
