San Diego County Burning?
A local state of emergency has been declared in San Diego County!!
My son (an EMT), who works out in Valley Center just called and informed me that flames are whipping up all around him in North County!
I live here in the mountains, east of San Diego, and heavy winds are beating the hell out of things even as we speak! Many, many structures have already burned in North County, and the flames are heading west and south at this time! Even though these are Santa Ana Winds (blowing in from the east), the media is calling the winds erratic at best!
The media has called this a dire situation, the Mayor is attempting to calm people, but urges caution, and most of our fire fighting resources have already been deployed to fires North of us!
However, at this point, the Mayor said that we have adequate resources!? However, houses are reported to be going up like dominos in the wake of this fire, but our people are pros and hopefully they can knock this fire down!?
The Casino in the North County (Valley Center), I understand, is also under siege by flames, and the cause of the multiple fires that broke out almost simultaneously, is apparently still in question!
Deaths have already been reported, and air resources are not available as yet!! :cd:
