![]() ![]() ![]() By Tank Murdoch (TNS) If you were wondering whether or not President Trump held a bit of a grudge against his first attorney general, Jeff Sessions, over the latter’s recusal from the ‘Russia collusion’ case, the answer is…yes. On Tuesday following primary election results in Alabama, where Sessions is running for his old seat against a strong challenge from former Auburn University football coach Tommy Tuberville, the president tweeted his support for Sessions’ rival.
The endorsement of Tuberville is*a major boost for the former Auburn University football coach three weeks before the primary runoff between the two Republicans. Tuberville earned the top spot in last week’s primary, narrowly edging out Sessions but falling well short of the 50 percent of the vote needed to avoid a runoff. Whomever wins the nomination will face off against incumbent Democrat Doug Jones, who very narrowly defeated a compromised Judge Roy Moore after Sessions stepped down to become the president’s AG. .pi_117734 div, .pi_117734 a, .pi_117734 img{ margin: 0; padding: 0; line-height: 0; list-style: none; border: 0; vertical-align: baseline; }.pi_117734 {position:relative;width:auto;background:#fff;}.pi _117734 a{display:inline-block;width:100%;border:0;border-style:none;outline:none;text-decoration:none;}.pi_117734 img{display:block;max-width:100%;border:0;outline:none;text-decoration:none;}.pi_117734 .pi_title{font-family:'league-gothic', Arial, sans-serif;font-size:24px;font-weight:bold;text-align:left;color:#000000;margin:0 0 10px 0;line-height: 100%;}.pi_117734 .pi_brand {float:right;clear:both;padding-top: 5px;}.pi_117734 .pi_header:after, .pi_117734 .pi_footer:after, .pi_117734 .pi_au_container:after {content:""; display: table; clear: both;}.pi_117734 .pi_au_container{padding:0 !important;direction:ltr;}.pi_117734 .pi_au{position:relative;font-size:0;width:23.255%;float:left;vertical-align:top;min-width:50px;list-style-type:none;box-sizing:border-box;}.pi_117734 .pi_au ~ .pi_au{margin:0 0 0 2.3%;}.pi_117734 .pi_au img{width:100%;height:auto;}@media screen and (max-width:620px){.pi_117734 .pi_au{width:48.666%;}.pi_117734 .pi_au ~ .pi_au{margin:0 0 2% 2.6%;}.pi_117734 .pi_au.pi_o{margin:0 0 2% 0;}} You Might Like ![]() The president’s snub did not seem to phase Sessions — or, at least, he’s not showing it (since Trump is very popular in Alabama).*Sessions vowed to support the president’s agenda if he wins the primary and manages to defeat Jones. “I’m one of the architects of the Trump agenda I’ve always supported it and always will,” Sessions wrote*in a tweet Tuesday. “Nothing the president can do will deter me from supporting this agenda, because my principles, just like my faith, are fundamental to who I am and immovable. We are Alabama. Nobody tells us how to vote or what to do.” The president has always been sore at Sessions for recusing himself from the Russian collusion probe, which was based on fabricated narrative cooked up by the outgoing Obama regime and carried out by anti-Trump loyalists in the deep state.
We know who the president wants. GOT SOMETHING TO SAY? COMMENT BELOW More... |
