Kenton Miller, 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, takes aim at a simulated target during a joint platoon exercise at the Yakima Training Center, Wash., Sept. 16. A Stryker infantry platoon, Japanese infantry platoon and Japanese armor platoon maneuvered through the plains of Yakima's premier training center attacking simulated fighting positions during Operation Rising Thunder. Rising Thunder is a joint training exercise aimed at improving and validating the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force, I Corps and 7th Infantry Division's combat readiness as a combined joint task force.
