The U.S. Coast Guard sent out an alert at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday that a surfer was missing at Sand Dollar Beach in Big Sur.* Coast Guard officers based in Monterey launched a rescue boat and asked all boaters to keep a sharp lookout.
