Bawney Fwank and his gang decided that disenfranchised poor folk too deserve to own their own home, so they quash any and all efforts for over-sight and regulation on Fannie May and Freddie Mac and instruct them to provide mortgages to people who couldn`t get credit enough to get Netflix to their mailbox. How`my doin so far?
The fallout from this boondoggle pretty much ruins the housing market and all our homes lose value, and now, in his infinite wisdom, the new leader decides to bail out all those poor, poor pitiful folks that signed on the dotted line for some ridiculous variable rate contract for their American Dream-to the tune of $75 mil. So you and I will walk slack on this patrol into the jaws of Socialism?

...it's all part of the big "equalization" process, see you give them a loan on something they never could afford in the first place, yup you hit that on the head, then they remorgage, and get a home equity loan, and buy the lincoon so all looks great from the driveway, then with the extra, buy crack, and party, then opps can't pay either morgage, or the car payment, cant find the car since they "lent" it to their dealer to go mule more crack, then awww, who cares, just go back to the tar paper shack, and the nisson maxima, and let everyone else pick up the pieces while their home value hits rock bottom, foreclosure, bank can't get anywhere near what they lent on it in the first place because they trashed it, one big cycle of lies from the start, but again, they were forced into lending the money by none other then the bleeding heart left that says to let them have a better life...

Barney The Fudge Packer Franks is immune, apparently, from any investigation, indictment or incarceration. His actions alone were more contributory to the mortgage collapse then anyone else; he's the Bernie Madoff of the US House of Representatives. Had this entirely squalid episode been in the private sector, there would have been hordes of investigators going through every detail of Barney and his limp-wristed boyfriend. But since he's a Democrat, he'll just have to wait his time in line behind (no un intended) the other thugs, like Tom Daschle, and other tax scofflaws. (Ooops, don't tell our resident Whiner that this thread turned political, or he'll report us!) Truth be known, there's too much stuff buried, that doesn't see the light of day mostly, and too many people are in the dark about what's happening to our country. We really need to wake up before The Bastard socializes everything else.

I personally am in somewhat of agreement with you on this. Even though I believe that if you thoroughly check out the "vote" on this issue when it was passed by Congress, it had a goodly number of Republicans voting FOR it as well!

I've never been a big fan of Barney Franks. But, I don't go around condemning him for his personal lifestyle....whatever it may be. Unlike your buddy from Texas who feels it necessary to call folks of diifferent ethnic backgrounds such things as "wetbacks" and many other derogatory things like "fudge-packers" and the likes. It sickens me to the core that we still have supposedly intelligent individuals in this country who continue to show just how radically intolerant and racially and ethnically as well as sexually prejudiced and obviously full of hatered they continue to show themselves.
