Default NORFOLK (Feb. 7, 2012)

NORFOLK (Feb. 7, 2012)

The amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) pulls into Naval Station Norfolk after completing a 10 1/2-month deployment to the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility. The homecoming marks the end of the longest deployment for a U.S. Navy ship in more than forty years. Bataan's amphibious readiness group supported Operations Enduring Freedom, Odyssey Dawn and the NATO-led Operation Unified Protector and conducted Maritime Security Operations in the Mediterranean and Arabian Seas.
