This "cartoon" Has nothing to do with humor or making fun of our injured and disabled. This is political satire by the anti Bush administration folks intended to shed light on Donald Rumsfield and our governments gung-ho backing of our involvement in the war in Iraq but thier failure to properly fund and care for injured veterans. I can certainly understand those who are angered by this because it isn't funny. It is also in poor taste that the subject of the picture has to be an injured veteran. But the damn thing was never intended to be "funny" in the first place! The Bush folks are going to get a lot of yardage out of this by portraying the artist and publisher as non patriots and some of you are buying right in to this shit The subject matter may be disturbing to some of you, but you're missing the point.

No, billyguns, I think that it's you that are missing the point. ANYBODY-right, left,up,down,repub. or dem.-who seeks to make political capital and/or political statments/propaganda by standing on the bodies of our KIA's,or exploiting our WIA's is a scum-sucking ass-hole unfit to breath American air. "Non-patriot" is not even a good start.

Doc, what I'm trying to say is this thing portrays the plight of the war injured and the lack of interest is providing the funding and care they soo deserve. I have little opinion one way or the other concerning the political end of it simply because this problem has been overlooked for decades by all parties. I too have a major problem with anyone trying to promote a political agenda on the backs of our service people who are simply doing what our country has ask of them to do.

There are better ways to get ones political views aired then to make a character of a Disabled Vet. All our Vets deserve their respect and dignity and this CARTOON was neither And I agree with Ya Melody,LT and Doc ! I too am a Lifetime Member of the DAV and that Dave Autry guy doesn't speak for me either! If this cartoon was about a Disabled person in a Wheelchair attempting to get up the stairs at a Government Building and the Mayor(appropriate figure inserted) was portrayed as saying "That's Ok he needs the exercise anyway" the ADA would be complaining immediately But, since it portrays a disabled Vet you can hear the Silence from the ACLU and ADA types since their isn't any money in it for them.....

This guy does Editorial Cartoons. They attack the Republican Party & the Military.

This is not the first time that his cartoon have caused outrage with military and been discussed on this site.

His cartoons are in about 400 newspapers including one in Las Vegas.

He is just another agitator.
