IT'S A SAD DAY
in Fog Town. Most of us thought it was a slam dunk after the 5th game. Only had to win 1 of the 2 remaining games. That 6th game loss really took the momentum out of the Giants, and it showed in game 7. Plus, the Angels came to play some baseball and kick some ass. My hat is off to them. A GREAT series that went right down to the wire. Both teams were hungry. This was the first title for the Angels in their 42yr. history, and the Giants haven't won a series since '54 when they were still in NY.
Besides the Angels winning, there were a couple of other "firsts" in this series. This was the first time that 2 wild card teams faced each other in a World Series. Plus, the Giants had 14 home runs in the series; a new record. Well, was glad to have a "California Series," even if us Northern Californians thinks of Southern California as a different state.......or planet , most of the time. Packo, I haven't heard what Bonds plans are, yet. Would have liked to see him get a World Series ring with the Giants, though. WAIT'LL NEXT YEAR!!
