Hitting the slopes all year round

Are you looking for a place to get your ski legs back before you hit the slopes in Europe? Or are you a first timer looking to learn to ski or board? Well whatever your reasons the SNo!Zone in Milton Keynes, about 50 miles west of Cambridge, has year round snow to facilitate your needs.
Inside the man-made snow dome the weather is a chilly 20 degrees Fahrenheit so make sure to bring your padded winter clothing and don’t forget to wear gloves. The slope descends at about a 15 percent grade, and is 560-feet-long, and is covered with 1700 tons of real snow that stays crisp and even whether in spring, summer, fall or winter.
Before you can hit the slopes alone you must meet the Sno!Zone’s minimum recreational standard which includes skiers and snowboarders being able to link turns, control speed and use a Poma lift effectively. Not to worry, if you can’t already do these things lessons are available.
For those that have trouble staying on two feet, tobogganing and tubing sessions are also offered on the slope.
All participants whilst undertaking any snow activity, whether a lesson, or run down the slope must wear a helmet. Although you are welcome to bring your own the Sno!Zone provides helmets free of charge.
According to the Sno!Zone management their slopes have seen nearly two million people using their slopes to practice snow sports year round in the last decade.
Lessons begin at one hour for 29 pounds for both skiing and snowboarding. While Main slope passes range from 14 – 33 pounds for one - two hours.
Sno!Zone is open everyday 9 a.m. – 11 p.m. with the exception of Christmas day. To book all slope activities visitors can call 0871 222 5673 (be aware a 1.99 GBP fee is added to call telephone bookings) or by visiting www.snozoneuk.com and using the secure online booking system.
