Germany, Italy Asked Gates for MEADS support

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates' forthcoming budget announcement will decide the fate of the trinational Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS), according to Lockheed Martin officials, who said partner nations Germany and Italy have asked the secretary for continued support.
