I just don't understand
I just got word another dad in our scout troop died. This makes four in a troop of about 15. This guy has a kid who was born with a hip dysplasia. When the kid was smaller the mother and grandmother wouldn't even let the kid get up to get the TV remote. Greg signed the boy up with our troop which specializes in backpacking. He cried every time he went hiking with us but when I suggested other areas of scouting might be better for him, the kid refused. He is well on his way to getting his hiking merit badge and he has bawled his eyes out every time he hikes. The last hike he went on I told him he was my hero. It was all because of the support of his dad. I just don't understand.

Doc ours is not to reason why. God has other dutys for the boys Father. Death is never easy to accept and its even harder when you are as young as a boy scout. If he is as tough as you say and not a quitter, he will do just fine. Tell him he has a man size job to do helping his mama through all this. sometimes its easier to heal yourself by helping other through the hard times.

Fred, somehow knowing he has an extended family around , like his Scout buddies and you around , makes me feel better. I gave up trying to understand why things happen

Fred :
Just curious. You can answer by PM or not at all. No problem. Over what period of time did they die ? What were their ages? All natural causes ? Sounds like a real tragedy. I pray God will give you the strength and understanding to deal with this. May God Bless, Larry

They all died in the last three years. One, my son, was a car wreck, another had a heart attack, another a ruptured aortic aneuism and the last one a pulmonary embolus. My son was 34, the heart attack was late 50's, the aneurism was mid 30's and the last was in his lower 40's. Two of the boys are the ones that found their dads and initiated CPR on them.

Brother I'm sorry you are so sad. I'm sad with you. You and I both have had to look at little ones and wonder how we are to explain why their daddy wasn't coming home. I don't even know that Solomon would be wise enough to give them an answer as to why. Life unfolds and sometimes with the unfolding comes light. These dear children now have a life time to seek understanding of how to be at peace with this tremendous loss in their life. For myself I have learned to live with unanswered prayers and questions and trust that I'll understand it all by and by. To have any mindset but this is to open up a door so filled with despair that it would render me useless to those that need me to stand in the door for them. May the peace that passes understanding fill the hearts of each child, family member, and friend of those good men that have been taken to soon out of their life. I love this picture because it represents exactly how I see death. Our loved ones are not gone they are just outside the camp....Sis
