As to the Hollywood bunch, well, they have already said NO to the USO so we can expect the Saga of Sergeant Jessie Lynch ( I promoted her, OK?) to initially get swept under the carpet and not acknowledged or dismissed out of hand. Woe unto the Hollywood ?elitist? that says anything disparaging. We?ll see who has guts now and stands to their cause and see what kind of wiggle and spin they put on this.

That youngster, weather she likes it or not, has become part of the American fabric and as the story unfolds I have a feeling we?ll all be amazed by the quiet Gal from rural West Virginia.

But this story is so compelling that I expect that it will be told and some responsible Hollywood individual will take on the task of doing it right. The real ball of lead in the Hollywood stomach is going to be that several Iraqi people risked all to help save Jessie and I?m sure that they will share their motivations for taking such an incredible risk.

The problem is that I don't know of anybody in Hollywood fit to pretend to be her.

Default Don't...

...know if promoting her to SGT. is enough,...

... frankly, I don't think there is a grade high enough for what she has gone through, possibly "saint", although it's not on the pay scale...

...And 9th, naaah,... "none qualified" fits that resume...

Default SJ.........

I was thinking in terms of the legacy of Tennessee?s Sergeant York. Somehow that sounds just right and fitting. I doubt she will be as highly decorated as Alvin York, but I?m surely thinking a Silver Star for openers.

Talking 9th Inf Doc.

She looks pretty enough to play herself!

Audie did.

Seriously she seems to be one remarkable young woman.

Hay! You're right! That's the ticket!

AND she's much prettier than Audie.

But on the serious side-Audie ended up eating a bullet.Sure hope the Docs can do better by her.

I think I'll wait for the "Official" story on this one. Too many problems with the way this has been reported. First that she had "Multiple Gunshot" wounds and a "Stab Wound", now it looks like that's not the case. Where did the story start that she's killed Iraquis? Nobody claimed that she said this, so just where did it start? Who is alive to give credence to the story as a witness? I think that the "Press" has started an urban legend here. In a week or so, once she's been de-briefed, the real story will come out.

Neil,

Lord knows my memory is conciderably less than 100% but I saw a thing on his life not too long ago and I believe that's what they said. They noted that he had what we would consider obvious severe PTSD symptoms during the last years of his life and that he always kept a loaded .45 at his bedside and talked of useing it to end his pain on more than one occasion.Think he finally did.
