We hear a great deal of chatter these days about a variety of subjects from our fellow human beings. But in reality, there are really very few people in our midst, outside of our own immediate families, who truly give a damn about anyone or anything but themselves (The Old What’s In It For Me Scenario)?

Granted, there are indeed sterling characters out there that labor hard and long to do good! But only a damned fool could ever possibly believe that “The Milk of Human Kindness” flows freely through the veins of each and every man and woman alive? And the problem with this is:

“That some of those who dine at the tables of the righteous - would probably defecate into the repast, if given but half a chance, and more is the shame!”

“The bottom line here, however, is really an easy one indeed!”

“When you encounter a real friend, hang onto them for life!” But when you run into a real stinker, dump that individual posthaste, and this before any real and lasting damage can be done to you, and to yours – and that too is a fact Jack!

For unlike “The Extremely Fortunate Mr. W. Rogers”, the gent who was credited with having said that: “He never met a man that he didn’t like, few of us who are alive today, could ever repeat this sentiment in totality and in all truthfulness, “Again In My Opinion!”

HC - I have few friends even at the VFW post - there's some that are still gung-ho and others who just want to have a beer and listen to the juke box. Most my age are suffering from one thing or another - still there are chest pounders who want to raise hell.

Having some surgery Friday - minor but still they have to cut me and stich me once again.
Have had many surgeries in my life. This will be number six or seven. But that's life.
Many of the guys at the VFW have fallen broken hips or shoulder's - knee caps you name it.

One guy even had to have his whole nose take off from cancer. Radiation for a month and then they are going to build him a new nose. He's handled it pretty well I think but its not easy to look him in the face and notice his whole nose is gone just a black hole.

Enough of that - We are getting old no two ways about it. I still have a few beers no hard
liquor anymore - have two more surgeries but I've postponed them until really necessary.
Wife's condition is unbearable and very difficult to watch her degrade the last five years.
Both daughter's don't know how long she can handle them.

Many of the friends and X-service guys have died or struggling with medical issues.
Why should I be any different. I'm beyond thinking of any upcoming events that would bring me pleasure. Without my wife - life will be awful. I always wonder who will take care of her if I go first. My oldest most likely and my youngest can't handle her load with her two kids.

Chin Music - in the US the term means - idle talk or gossip. Goes back to the last century.
I guess it also relates to BS - chit chat - in the bars. How much is true depends on much of it you really listen to. Also and old word was grunge from the 80's & 90's. Which is defined as slang or saying something unpleasant or foul.

To me its street music - of the day.

As a kid in the (50's) we always would say "ah man" - my Mom would say - if you say that again your grounded.

Slang is constant every year something new come's out - and most make no sense - whereas some are catchy and many just sound ignorant.
