Italian engineers remove WW II UXO from future Peace Park in Vicenza

A squad of Italian army engineers and civilian contractors removed more than 20 World War II era bombs from a former rugby field east of the recently opened U.S. Army installation, Caserma Del Din, which lies to the north of Vicenza, Italy. The parcel of land, formerly a civilian airstrip and most recently a sports field, is being prepared for development as the City of Vicenza's Parco della Pace, or Peace Park.
