I bet that the VA always has had sufficient funds, to be efficient and effective ... you don't get good stewards of the public trust, you get bureaucratic empire builders. Why add to there honey pot of waste on travel, training, conventions, middle management, redundant reports, underused buildings (if used at all) ... get some effiecient and down to earth leaders in that organization ... preferably, Veterans.
I think you hit the nail on the head ! If the truth was known, the head indian of the VA is a presidental appointee. He probably brought 50, friends and relatives with him to the honey pot. If more money was spent of the veteran, instead of kick backs from Dell, Ford Motor Company, and Phizer Inc. But, the US Government has always run on graft, spreading the gravy around, and being kind to the biggest campaign support.
Short Dawg
Out
yes it does. there is so much waisted that why they are short funds, cut out the waist like valet parking, $1,500 for a trash can. yes there is more than enought if it was spent in the right area.
I can't imagine how much is waisted on VA Hospital grounds keeping, and building maintenance, telecommunications, "security guards," Middle and Upper Mgmt bullcrap (e.g. meetings, studies, travel ... ), absentism/poor moral ...
Voucher ... and shift savings over to an increase in Educational benefits, or mid-life reducation/training, and house purchasing, etc.. Why not ?
VA should spend its money on the Vet, not on management.
