Operation Tombstone Pile Driver (15 July 2004)

On July 15, 2004 soldiers from the 1st Cavalry Division?s 5th Brigade Combat Team and the Iraqi National Guard?s 304th Battalion executed an extensive cordon and search operation in southern Baghdad. Code-named Operation Tombstone Pile Driver, its objective was to find insurgents and seize any weapons.

The operation netted six individuals who were detained for questioning.
