Operation Striker Tornado was designed to allow the 1st Armored Division to execute near-simultaneous raids on specified targets wanted for anti-coalition activities. The majority of the raids were in the area around Baghdad and Karbala. Col. Ralph Baker, commander of the 2nd Brigade, 1st Armored Division reported on June 28, 2004 that 11 suspects were captured.
