Default Where Do You Live?

Check this out. Satellite view of your home. Pretty interesting. It blew our actual address by 2 houses, but our house was still in the picture.

Default Jeff....

I?m safe, it didn?t know of my City. As an aside, I found out last year that a huge percentage of the satellite survey information used by County governments (at least in this State) are provided now by somewhat friendly but former unfriendly Soviet spy satellites. That was gulp- no shit deal to find out. The maps I was looking at had resolution down to individual fence posts. :ek: Aarrgg!

That was pretty cool Jeff, but all i got was a really blurry picture. It did have an x on my house though. Do you know what would make it blurry? Or how to clear it up?

How are you guys getting clear pictures? I just put in my daughter's in Maine, and it came out as blurry as mine in Buffalo. I couldn't make out a house in any of them.

They only have high resolution in certain areas. Look at the Earth view when you first log on and zoom in once or twice with out putting in an address, you'll see off color areas, thoseare the ones with high definition.

Default JeffL.....

Really neat. Did one for my friend up the street from me also and printed a copy, just so I could show him how private his privacy actually is, and that I can keep tabs on him whenever I want.

Regardless, it is pretty-eerie knowing how easily one can be made Ground Zero BY ANYONE.

Neil

P.S. Jeff I imagine "They" have to be off by a few houses? Otherwise, and if right on target, all you would see is the white circle with cross-hairs for your house, while seeing everyone elses houses great.

Bill, I agree with you about it not exactly pinpointing our homes.

Jane, I just looked at Buffalo, and it's blurred. Maybe the image was taken through some cloud cover? I dunno.

It DOES look like Buffalo's image was taked during the summer, with all the greenery. The image of our area was taken during the fall or spring; there're no leaves on the trees, farm fields are bare and the ground is brown. Maybe that has something to do with it.

It REALLY shows our place. 'Course, we're in a rural area, but that's exactly why I thought it WOULDN'T show it. :re:

Mebbe later on I'll try some more exact addresses I know...

I just looked at one of those high definition places, WOWEE!!! Maybe I'm glad mine is blurry. Why are some of the places high definition? I think I'd be getting paranoid?
Could hide ya'll out here I spose.
