Default Snap-back songs

I have 3 songs that snap me back to specific times and places in Vietnam whenever I hear them today. I am not going through a flashback, but they cause me to freeze up and stop whatever I am doing as I re-experience the smells, sights, and activity of the time.

1) Im So Lonesome I Could Cry (Hank Williams, Sr.)
2) Aquarius/Let the Sunshine in (The Fifth Dimension)
3) Those Were The Days (Mary Hopkins)

[No, exlrp, I didn't listen to them while on an ambush ]

Leg,

We all have a few tunes that bring back various times of prior to, during and after service periods. It's amazing how some songs linger and how some make a different impression to those at different times of their lives.

I can't remember the titles like I used to but when I hear them I catch myself thinking back to where I was at when I heard it.

I've traveled so much and done so much in my life already but I recall when I first got out is was like I had been in a time warp. I really didn't fit in the old neighborhood anymore.

I would come back home about every three years to the old place. Some of the guys I hung out with were 4F so they never went anywhere and couldn't relate to anything I had to talk about and the gals I knew went off and got married and it just seems like life had just blown right by me.

After 12 years of service it became evident that I was no longer part of the old area too many things changed. I got marrid my one of my best friends girlfriend and we've been together to 36 years this July so what can I say.

Currently the radio station is playing oldies (Georgia is playing right now and now Greenfields - thats an old one) and just as suddenly I snap back to reality and move on.
