Default Handicap parking

Just recently Texas changed the color of there handicap tag that hangs from the mirror while parking in a handicap zone. They went from red to blue. It used to be all you had to be was a fat black person with a Mersadies, Lexus, Cadolac, or a lincoln and you could park there, or it seamed, anyway. Today I actualy seen a person get out of there vehicle with a limp.
I think those parking spots are against equal rights, but if your going to favor certain people at least let them be in a wheel chair. Those people deserve a hand.

Default Have a friend that has a severely handicapped daughter

It really pi$$es me of to see people park in handicap places. Some time ago a classy Blond pulled into a handicapped place in front of me. I yelled at her and she replied she was picking up someone. After seeing her shopping in the store I went out and cut the sidewalls of two tires. Had a guy tell me he was going to shoot me after I yelled at him. He left after I produce a S&W model 29 and invited him to take the first shot.

Post Handicap Parking?

Often out here in Washington (the state) the handicap parking goes unused.
Very seldom have I seen them all used up in a parking lot.

It doesn't hurt the rest of us to do a little walking.

Default Justice

At the old Austin airport, a large, fat White guy parked his ostentaciously equipped Cadillac in a handicap space. He was approaching his car while a policeman was writing a ticket. With loud protests about his "only being there" a short period of time, the officer said, "I was going to only give you a $50 fine, but now the price went up to $200!" Poetic justice indeed!

Texas has allowed Purple Heart license plate owners free parking at parking meters, and in handicapped spaces; sometimes, I avail myself of this privilege.

As most of you know, my girlfriend Karen is on disablity.

She has been since 1999, and then she was issued a thing a ma jig to hang on the mirror, and it was Blue, and now she has a permanent one that is blue that she carries in her purse all the time, ( just in case she takes the truck instead of the car).

Her car has Handicap plates on it, but to this day she only parks there when it is real cold and/or raining out.

I, when driving the car, dont ever park in those spots, cause "someone" in dire need will need that spot even though there are quite a few.

Why dont the groceries store put there handicap parking closer to the door ??

I have seen "real" disabled persons pull into a parking spot, cause the ones for them were taken ( not enough), and yes, I help them to the front door especially in bad weather, other than that they really dont like to be helped, and cant blame them.

Good post about the disabled 39.

enough..............

The best situation I am aware of regarding handicap parking is in Tyler,Tx. The city of Tyler employees handicapped persons to take the Polaroid picture of the vehicle in the handicap space and then write the ticket. The local news station caught some of the people that got busted running out to their car trying to talk their way out of the ticket until they realized they were on TV or getting a picture for the paper for all to see.
Plus it is a great job for handicapped persons to perform.

Default And there are other times....

...when you can't tell if a person is handicapped or not. Sometimes, the disability is not that visible to others. I can understand your anger at people who don't have handicap permits and still park in handicapped spaces, but if someone has a permit, don't be so quick to judge them or their disability.

A good example of this is a person with a heart problem. They may not be able to walk more than a few hundred feet without experiencing chest pain or breathing problems. You can't tell just by first glance at someone. Not always.

Peace.
