Just letting you know I'm still alive

Been a bad year the wife has had multiple problems and many are still on going. She's been sick and has had severe spinal issues. Just recently had a torn rotarty cuff tear operated on her left shoulder. She's just miserable.

My grandson Gabe (13) just went a funeral for a friend of his that got killed by a train last week. They were close it was tough on him. He wouldn't go unless his Papa went with him. After the funeral he wanted to come home with me and spend the night. The next day his Mom (my daughter) picked him up. He was still shook up. She asked him if he wanted to have his other friend Carlos stay the night to play Xbox. So overnight Carlos wakes up with a terrible stomach ache and my daughter call's his Mom she comes over and gets thim. Three hours later Carlos had his appendix taken out. Least to say Gabe doesn't know if he has a bad Karma or just some bad luck lately. Poor Kid.

Keeping in touch with HC - though he's been quite for awhile I will have to touch base with him.

I hope you all are doing OK and that issues are getting resolved as usual. Moving in on 70 now so I'm on borrowed time based on the family tree.

The issues of late with all these Middle East problems have me concerned and I don't have good feeling about the outcome in the near future. Gotta get to the VA for my annual checkup - haven't been feeling the greatest. Have this large swelling on my back that will no doubt have to be removed. Swell!

My lungs are peppered with metal objects and some issues are coming about from that causing me to have some breathing issues of late. I blow it off and have a couple beers that helps me get to sleep.

Been thinking about many things of late. I've had a fortunate life I feel I should have been killed off many years ago - but the old man must have something in mind for me.

Many of the guys I served with have already passed on and those still alive are just bying time until we nod off.

Well anyway I'm still around - wishing you all the best - as usual. Don't hurt yourselves we don't heal like we used to. God Bless our troops and our country.
