Angry Absolute Disgust!!

Why is it that a political system that was designed to represent all people equally, almost immediately becomes as corrupt as any decaying entity that is serving hard time for crimes against the people?

Case in point - Today's news is replete with proposed cuts in services to the elderly, the poor, the middle class, our students (the future of our nation), the retired, the disabled, and the blind etc!

These cuts are not because those barely making it now are living exorbitantly, but rather because those fortunate enough (or crooked enough) to be living the high life figure "Why Stop There?" This whole situation reminds me of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette of France back in the late Eighteenth Century (Let Them Eat Cake Indeed?) We all, of course, know how that ended!

If a few well-healed politicos are intent upon balancing a budget that they themselves inflated upon the backs of the less fortunate, then by all means, let them lead by example! A good place to begin would be a 25% cut in their own salaries and benefits! This could be followed up by massive cuts in foreign aid, the elimination of benefits to illegals, the slashing of pork barrel benefits to the wealthy and their political cronies, and the re-education of those in government to the fact that they are there to serve and not to be served!

Any "Trickle Down Philosophy" that advocates that the billions gifted to the affluent will work it's way down to the less fortunate - is utterly bogus! All that trickles down to the middle classes, the elderly, the infirmed and the poor, is the urine that dribbles down the legs of the filthy rich!

After all is said and done, the majority of support to this (OUR NATION) comes from the Middle Class and poor who fight the wars, sweat the blood and shed the tears! Many of the affluent who do genuinely serve this nation, do so with an eye upon future political aspirations, or turning a fast buck at the expense of others!

Truth, honor and equality, both in responsibility and sacrifice, are the only sure cures for what ails us! No problem was ever resolved by cutting into the lean, while allowing the real problem (the Porkers) to proliferate!

We can not (and must not) continue to be more concerned about world opinion, the affluence and power of the selected few, and the demanded rights of that same selected few, while we ignore the survival of true and genuine Americans, regardless of their financial status!

"These are, of course my own personal opinions!"

If those "In Power" are intent on cutting further the absolute minimal survival of the majority of our people, then why don't they just cut our throats and get it over with. Because that is exactly what they are doing!!

> Calif. governor proposes deep cuts
> By AARON C. DAVIS, Associated Press Writer --- Thu Jan 10, 6:15 PM ET
>
> Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a fiscal emergency in California Thursday, and released a state budget proposal that would close an estimated $14 billion gap by cutting education funds, releasing inmates and closing dozens of state parks.
>
> The emergency declaration forces lawmakers to vote on many of the cuts within 45 days, instead of waiting until the new budget year begins July 1. If they take no action, they cannot address other state business.
>
> The $141 billion plan would give schools 10 percent less money, release 22,000 inmates and shut 48 state parks. Cuts or freezes in funding for children of welfare recipients and elderly, blind or disabled people also are in the plan.
>
> "This is a budget that doesn't please everybody, I know that for sure,"
> Schwarzenegger said. "But the bottom line is I think this is the fairest way
> to go."
>
> California faces a $3.3 billion deficit for the current fiscal year if no
> action is taken, and projects an $11.2 billion shortfall next year.
>
> Economists have long advocated measures to control spending as a way to
> bring California's revenue and expenditures in line - unless the Republican
> governor reneges on his promise not to increase taxes. Major cuts to
> education and social programs, however, will be difficult if not impossible
> in the Democrat-controlled Legislature.
>
> State agencies and programs would be cut by 10 percent. Education would lose
> more than $4 billion, cuts that would require the Legislature to suspend
> provisions of a voter-approved initiative that guarantees a minimum funding
> level for schools.
>
> That proposal drew immediate criticism from Democrats and educators. A group
> of parents also demonstrated outside the governor's press conference,
> holding signs and chanting that the state must protect its children.
>
> "The governor's budget takes a giant step backwards," state Superintendent
> of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell said in a statement. "Our state
> shouldn't punish our children for its grown-ups' mistakes."
>
> Cuts to the prison system would come through the early release of inmates
> determined to be "low risk" who have less than 20 months remaining on their
> sentences. Only prisoners serving sentences on nonviolent, non-sex-offender
> crimes would be eligible.

>
> Republican lawmakers have been critical of any attempt to release inmates
> early and reacted angrily.
>
> "The governor is unequivocally proposing to jeopardize public safety to

> Assemblyman Todd Spitzer, a Republican.
>
> Schwarzenegger also will resubmit a proposal the Legislature rejected last

>
> The cuts outlined by the governor are larger than what Democrats expected.
> They are pushing for a combination of cuts and tax increases.
>
> "It's the governor's day of reckoning," said Steve Maviglio, spokesman for

Lightbulb Other means to cut cost in California

Now we know why Paris and Lyndsey only spent hours in Jail for their DUI's! California can't afford to house prisoners let alone high profile cases that get the media attention. I wonder how much money California could save by sending all the Illegal immigrant prisoners back to Mexico including the ones they have in custody to include murders too! Cuba sent us their Murders and criminals during the Mariel boatlift (In April 1980 an estimated ten thousand Cubans stormed the Peruvian embassy in Havana seeking political asylum. Eventually, the Cuban government allowed 125,000 Cubans to illegally depart for the United States from the port of Mariel, an incident known as the "Mariel boatlift." A number of criminals and mentally ill persons were included.) Then to save more tax dollars so kids wouldn't lose out on their education. deport all the Illegal alien kids from classes and their parents too, it sounds cruel but we didn't sign on to be the worlds nanny to feed and educate all the kids that are in schools along the Mexican border. you don't see Canadian kids crossing the border to attend US schools and participating in the free lunch programs. Another program to eliminate in California to save money is Bilingual education and also printing state forms in more than 100 different languages. Past immigrants depended on their kids to translate for them. Now we teach their children in their native language and a kid in California doesn't need a English competency to pass High School now days. An illegal immigrant comes here and gives birth to an anchor baby they automatically seem to know how to get Government assistance like WIC, welfare, child care, state paid health insurance, low income housing, all because we are a compassionate nation that believes in taking care of the innocent children no matter the legal status of the parent. Its time to amend the 14th amendment and remove illegal immigrants from the Constitution so, their giving birth in the US doesn't reward them with citizenship for their children. The financial burden of illegal immigration on the border states is hurting our children's future.

Default When did we stop getting it?

http://www.homeofheroes.com/hallofhe...fc_pledge.html
"I pledge allegiance to the flag ...................... one Nation under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all."
The pledge was first authored and used in 1892 for the celebration of Columbus's discovery of this land. The words used then were an abbreviated version of what we use today. The words "under God" weren't added to the pledge until Ike was the President but the word Justice was in the original pledge and today there are so many that escape that word due to the fact that they can grease the right palm or our elected bureaucrats have failed to fund the system that assures Justice.

I find it truly amazing that we educated, savvy Americans continue to swallow the same tripe, over and over again!

The California housing and credit market is in a state of meltdown, crime (including illegal immigration) is near epidemic, and our Border Patrol is expected to do their jobs with both hands tied behind their backs? And this very same United States Border Patrol, according to a piece that I saw yesterday on the tube, is greatly out-gunned!

"The biggest problem here, as I see it, is that our own politicos seem to be ignoring the turmoil that is boiling all around us, as they are far more interested in capturing power than in the security and future of our nation!"

The great California Lottery, the boon (?) to education that was suppose to assist our schools is a sham, tax money is being diverted by the millions from intended public uses, and (as usual), the only (real) tool wielded by politicians is "Pure B.S.!!"

I hear a lot of promises gushing forth (around election time) from those who would be kings! Unfortunately, however, none that I know of, promise (and mean it) to tell us all the absolute truth!! I guess that they feel that we can not handle the truth, or that truth, like a clove of garlic or a cross to any other vampire, is terminal to their existence!!

"So who again is the biggest fool - the liar, or those who continually believe and follow the liar?"

HC & All Others,
There's nothing to be: "Disgusted" or to worry about.
Just set up A Meet between Old Arnold and my omnipotent Governor Corzine.

It shouldn't take very long for The Governor & Political Machine of the HIGHEST TAXED
American State to explain the obvious reason as to why New Jersey never need worry about
having any monies FOR ANYTHING. Whether it moves or not,...JUST TAX IT.

Another East Coast Big Brother helfulness would no doubt also be suggesting to scrub
California's quite Resident Friendly Proposition 13. That way, and just as in New Jersey all politicians statewide can gorge themselves on the largest political: "Golden Goose" possible.

After all, when politicians can increase Property Taxes at whim and as much as they like (The New Jersey norm), instead of California cutting ANYTHING or declaring a: "Fiscal emergency" Shwartzenneger could actually declare a quite LARGE SURPLUS & DOUBLE ALL GIVE-AWAY PROGRAMS & OUTLAYS.

Hey,...there's a whole lot of money available:"Just For The Taking" if similarly & historically
taxed as: "We The (Schnooks)" of New Jersey are usually and/or socialistically,
lordly & illegal-friendly taxed-out-of-our-socks.

Neil
