Post Letter From Green Beret To John Kerry;

Thought maybe you'd want to read this;

In from OldSarge.....

Hey guys....go to target=_blank eudora="autourl">www.donbendell.com and read his guest opinion...or see below...

I spoke to Don this morning...woke him up...forgot it was 8 AM where he lives in Colorado...and thanked him for his service and this opinion...

Opinion by Don Bendell, Vietnam Veteran

The old hurts are surfacing again and the feelings of betrayal by fellow citizens, and their leader stirring them up, are breaking my heart again. I am being cut in the same scar. How did we who served in Vietnam suddenly become cold-blooded killers, torturers, and rapists, of the ilk of the Nazi SS or the Taliban? Most of us were American soldiers who grew up idolizing John Wayne, Roy Rogers, and all the others heroes. That was why I volunteered. But for political expediency, John Kerry has rewritten history again. After spending only four months in the country of Vietnam, John Kerry testified before Congress in 1971 with these exact words about incidents he supposedly witnessed or heard about from other vets: "They personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of Vietnam."

I was a green beret officer who volunteered for duty in Vietnam and fought in the thick of it in 1968 and 1969 on a Special Forces A-team on the Ho Chi Minh trail, just for starters. We were the elite. We saw the most action. Everybody in the world knows that. But we did not just kill people, we built a church, a school, treated illnesses, passed out soap, food, and clothing, and had fun and loving interaction with the indigenous people of Vietnam, just like our boys did in Normandy, Baghdad and Saigon and everywhere American soldiers have served. We all gave away candy bars and rations to kids and our hearts to oppressed people all over the globe.

My children and grandchildren could read your words, and think horrendous things about me, Mr. Kerry. You are a bold-faced, unprincipled liar, and a disgrace, and you have dishonored me and all my fellow Vietnam veterans. Sure, there were a couple of bad-apples, but I saw none, and I saw it all, and if I did as an army officer, it was my obligation to stop it, or at the very least report it. Why is there not a single record anywhere of you ever reporting any incidents like this or having the perpertrators arrested? The answer is simple. You are a liar. Your medals and mine are not a free pass for lifetime, Senator Kerry, to bypass character, integrity, and morality. I earn my green beret over and over daily in all aspects of my life.

Eight National Guard green berets, and other National Guard soldiers, have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, and you totally dishonored their widows and families by lumping National Guard service in with being a draft-dodger, conscientious objector, and deserter, just so you can try to sabotage the patriotism of our President who proudly served as an Air National Guard jet pilot. I have a son earning his green beret at Fort Bragg right now, and his wife serves honorably in the Air National Guard, just like President Bush did, and I am as proud of her as I am my son.. I volunteered for Vietnam and have no problem whatsoever with President Bush being our Commander-in-Chief. In fact, I am proud of him as our leader.

John Kerry, you personally derailed the Vietnam Human Rights Bill, HR2883, in 2001, after it had been passed by the House by a 411 to 1 vote, and thousands of pro-American Montagnard tribespeople in Vietnam died since then, people who could have been saved by you. Earlier, as Chair of the Senate Select Committee on MIA/POW affairs, you personally quashed the efforts of any and all veterans to report sightings of living POW's when you held those reins in Congress. You have fought tooth and nail to push for the US to normalize relations with Vietnam for years. Why, Mr. Kerry? Simple, your first cousin C. Stewart Forbes, CEO of Colliers International, recently signed a contract with Hanoi, worth BILLIONS of dollars for Colliers' International to become the exclusive real estate representative for the country of Vietnam.

"Hanoi John" now that it works for you, you beat your chest about your Vietnam service, but to me, you are a phony, opportunistic hypocrite. You are one of those politicians that is like a fertilizer machine: all that comes out of you is horse manure, and you are spreading it everywhere.

Medals do not make a man. Morals do.

Don Bendell
Canon City, Colorado

Some answers.

Regards,

Travis

Neil;
As you've noticed, you're the first to respond and it was posted yesterday. It seems some may be a little upset with This Green Beret, Don Bendell's letter to John Kerry. Thanks for the reply.

Understood. After all, un-varnished and/or unequivocating truths are never kind to EVERYONE,...and especially never kind for power and control hungry and/or: "Recapture The White House" (their currently and most often used rallying cry) Liberal/Socialist/Democrats.

Even though despising politics, I personally prefer a ruling clique like The Republicans, whom are more concerned about capturing terrorists, protecting We Americans as best as possible, less concerned about foreigners, and letting We Americans keep as much of OUR VERY OWN MONEY as is possible,...rather than the standard Dem tactic of pitting every group of Americans possible against each other, so as to more easily: "Recapture The Whitehouse" and again TAX US OUT-OF-OUR-SOCKS.

Hey,...career wannabe rulers, fools and/or people whom would sell their mothers or first-born for a vote,..."Recapture" THIS.

NOT the typically obedient and ring-kissing servant as liberals require,
Neil

Neil;
Well said my friend. I'd say a lot more had I faced the enemy face to face, so I hold my remarks to a minimal. I just pass on the news.

I said in an earlier post that this was going to be the dirtiest, mud slingilgest, ETC... run for the White House in America's History. The trash is coming through now... Ain't it?

I too never: "Faced the enemy face to face (in combat anyway)". Regardless, that shouldn't stop any such American from speaking their mind,...and especially when knowing the difference between unarguable truths and purposefully deceiving and/or the politically oneupsmanship nonsense that prevails in most every facet of American Life.

Believe your: "Dirtiest and Mud Slinginest" election scenario isn't TOTALLY TRUE,...since ONLY half true and/or ONLY deemed dirty and mud slingging when Republicans expose truths about Democrats, which make "Them" look bad or as power and control OVER EVERYTHING freaks.

Whereas, even the foulest of absurd fabrications against Baby and Old Folks starving and war mongering Republicans are normally just referred to by The Press/Media as just: "Heated campaigning" or that Republicans or Conservatives are all rich foks and just cruel by nature.

That Reps must be: "Civil", whereas Dems can be actually vicious aside, it truly is a shame that the more so: "For The People" Republicans have never mastered the art of Political Hardball,...such as the politically wiser and politically devious Democrats have. Being: "Civil" against political fanatics, just doesn't cut-it.

But then, 40-50 years of Democrat control of America,...does permit for one to better polish their political skills better than the 40-50 year: "Party of Lincoln" or The Republicans and/or loosers. Don't you think?

Neil

P.S. Changed the ending of my previous post to more so explain what I was actually thinking.

Thumbs up Thought I'd throw this in;

Neil;fficeffice" />>>

I've already heard about Kerry's cousin?s overseas profits. Now I'm waiting to hear about Bush's Great, Great Grand Pa in the Civil War and then about a distant Fore Father of Kerry's in the War of Independence then about King Henry and Lord Bush. I?m gaining a wealth of knowledge. Hell, they?re going to have to re-write history after the Primaries are over. We?ll probably find out that the British were fighting the Blackfoot and killed a colonel wash woman with a stray bullet on ffice:smarttags" />July 4th 1776 and John Hancock was an alias for a man named Tom Jones. The Aztecs wrote the bill of rights and founded the Constitution with the help of the Algonquians. OK, OK I?d better quit this.

Where?s everybody at Neil?

Regards,

Travis

Kindly allow me to jump in here! Yup, I read, and re-read the letter from the Beanie, and then went to his website to have the letter verified. Fact of the matter is - he's right-on, dead-center correct.

Here's another little bit of history about Kerry that speaks volumes about who he really is

Back in 1972, in the afternoon after his testimony, Mr. Kerry led a group of Vietnam veterans to the front steps of the Capitol, where they tossed away their war medals in disgust.

"Tour of Duty," the glowing 2004 biography of Mr. Kerry by Douglas Brinkley, includes a photograph taken that day of his wife Julia Thorne [this was the wealthy woman he married, before he married the wealthier woman, Teresa Heinz] consoling Mr. Kerry, who is curled up on the front lawn of the Capitol, weeping over the emotion of having just tossed away combat medals. [Maybe an Academy Award should have been given for this performance: emoting about throwing away something that wasn't even his? Is that a sacrifice, or a staged event?]

But it wasn't until 13 years later that Mr. Kerry admitted he had actually thrown someone else's medals away, keeping his own safely at home. And if future posturing and grandstanding wasn't in the tea leaves for Kerry, why didn't he just exercise a bit of personal honesty and chuck his own medals?
