3D imaging is comming to our military
One of the new innovations that has come out in the last few years is the merger of three technologies. Those technologies are remote sensing, GIS, and computer graphic visualization. The remote sensing and GIS merged in the last decade with ERDAS and INTEGRAPH and a few other companies that used imagery behind their vector and polygon data.
GIS= Goegraphic imaging systems How it works. You stick sensors in the ground ( up to a mile apart) and then knock on the ground (small explosion) the data sent back from the sencors is converted to digital data and now you have a 3D image of what is under the ground. What does this mean. People will have a hard time hidding under ground from our military very shortly. Caves and underground bunkers for terrorist are about to have a new doorway. Ron |

I think I read somewhere about a kind of battle dress gear that would tie in with this too, as a kind of moving system within the BDU.

Ron , That same tech could be used on the Mexican border to keep track of Mexicans and drug smugglers tunneling into the US from Mexico
