?Well, another day in paradise!??

Still no power, no sleep, no water, no eager politicians, and very little hope at this point! As a matter of fact, virtually everyone in the backcountry of San Diego, the very young to the very old and all points in between, are experiencing compounded suffering!

Even as we speak, my wife is on the phone with the Washington DC office of one of our two U.S. Senators, who like many other politicos I have met, habitually nod their heads in brainless agreement, a bogus smile plastered all over their mugs, while at the same time, their minds are a million miles away in ?La La Land!?

Of course, these ?Bugger-Bureaucrats? all arose this morning from their debauched slumber, took long hot baths in their marble tubs, ate their eggs benedict and truffles, farted aloud in regal contentment, boarded their gas-guzzling imported limos, and then meandered down the street to their opulent office bordellos to pander their wares! (opinion)

Here in the smoldering boonies, however, nerves are stretched thin, but maybe not quite as thin as many a politico?s days of wine and roses? But like the bull shit out on the old south forty, the lies and incompetence of both parties during this National Disaster (San Diego Fire Storms) can be stretched just so thin, and that point just may have been reached and surpassed!! :cd:

Now don't get bitter, work for a solution, so it won't happen again.

Set up an agenda of things you want to happen. Laws passed concerning S.O.P.'s between agencies.
Better building codes. (just saw on FOX News how one house in twenty was saved in a housing complex, because it was the only house in the complex with cement shingles)
I'm sure there is a lot that can be done. Make sure your elected officials take the steps to correct the entanglements of the present and put in better S.O.P.s. This fire may do some good for the future if the folks in Southern California get of their behinds and stop pointing fingers and look for solutions.

Although wise and workable, your suggestions assume that these politicians will listen to what we have to say? Unfortunately, however, getting some politicians to listen to anything of value would be akin to building an eighth wonder of the world with a toothpick!

Alas, you can lead a horse (or even a jackass) to water, but getting him to drink is a different subject!?

Indeed, I am irate, disgusted and determined - but never bitter! As General Smith Patton (a very rich and educated man) once said, when confronted about his language: ?I give it to them in a way that they can understand - if by doing this, I ruffle a few feathers, it is worth it if it gets them to move!!?

Please know that as you march forward to champion the battle against the evil-doers that might have dragged their beaurocratic feet in combating this disaster,that many of us are here by your side to lend assistance.
Had it not been for the turn that Mother Nature made in the wind direction,I feel it safe to say that the inferno would still,today,rage on.This is because a major fire like the one you`ve just expierenced,fought on four seperate fronts,with four seperate incident commanders,and all the 'controlled chaos' of combat is unfightable.I don`t care what kind of assets may,or may not be available at the time.It is simply impossible to fight a fire that is crowning at 300 feet that is fanned by 40 mph+ eastern winds that carry 0% humidity.
PREVENTION is the only way to battle a monster like this from rearing it`s ugly head again...and again.There are three elements that a fire needs to burn: Oxygen,heat(or spark)and fuel.The only element that we can really control is FUEL.Elimination of fuel is where we must exert our efforts in combating disasters of this magnatude in the future! Pure and simple answer-Unseat those now in office,and never again elect to political office,anyone affiliated with the Sierra Club,Earth First,or any of the many more Enviro-Nazi agenda based groups.Common sensed logging and re-forestation projects MUST superceed the wishes and ill-thought out desires of enviomentalists-they that want to see the infected and dieing timber left standing,only to create more havoc.There are laws on the books that will continue to protect millions and millions of acres of natural forests in our country.There need to be laws to protect the lives and property of We,the People! Get the Enviro-Nazis out of our government...Now,before they burn our whole country.
