Default Sorry Curtis

I know as much about furnaces as a pig knows about Sunday. I just look in the yellow pages and call someone to come fix it. Our furnace doesn't have to work that often.....but our A/C sure does.

Call a professional.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I really never had the extra funds to be throwing toward someone else and always had to figure things out the best I could.Sometimes tho after process of illumination it would had been cheaper to hire it fixed. I'm pretty smart at fixing things but heating and air really pushes my buttons.Hope ya get this fixed soon it's 14 out side this morning,Rick

Curtis,
Do you have power coming from the limit control? Is there a reset on the limit control? Is the limit control for high/low gas pressure or temp control? If I can get some more info, I work with a bunch of guys that could probably come up with a money saving solution. PM is on the way.

Check continuity between T and T on the controller. If there is none, the relay coil is bad and the controller is shot. There is The "X" terminals are the high voltage side and only have voltage across them when the relay closes. The thermostat won't do anything if the coil has gone bad. The coil operates on 24 volts. T'stat calls for heat, power through the stat to the relay and the gas valve, relay closes turning on the circ pump and probably a vent fan. In a nutshell... HEAT.

The best way to check for high voltage, if you don't have a meter, is with your tongue.....If you get this buzzing feeling in your head and smoke comes out your ears.....You got voltage...

Bob,
Electricity runs on smoke. Notice when anything electrical smokes it stops.

Technically, you're correct,but.....Curtis's tongue will be in parallel with the circuit. Electricity takes the path of least resistance which would be the path through his tongue, brain, (which is definitely the path of least resistance) then out his ears. Once the circuit is broken, (Curtis turns to powder) the original path will resume......Besides, Curtis will try anything if sounds convincing
