Default Deer hunting

Well the season is only 2 months away. This Year I will be getting 5 deer for the freeze. Somewhere west of Corpis in a 5 deer county. 5 deer $500.00. Bunkhouse included. The guy isn't sure on the dates yet but most likey around the 1st of november.
I got 4 deer last year and me and the guys at the fire station ate it all up a few months ago. Deer burgers, chillie, stew, sausage, steaks, roast etc.
A leg on the BBQ pit rapped in foil with onions and some tadders with a beer and friends.

Presently playin with arrows lookin for bow season in about four weeks.

They upped the limit in my neck of the woods to 3 deer/DAY as long as you don't take more than 3 bucks for the season.

Thumbs up

Hey Hal. 3 a day ? I thought our 12 a season was high. Do you have a short season ? Bow starts here Sept 11 , cross bows with scopes are legal. Hunting with the 444 is tough enough for me though , what with that spounge taped to my forehead. Still gonna ride up to see you one of these days

Default Already have a stand in the woods

Put it in last week so the deer would get used to it. Bow season starts on the 11th for a month, then primitive arms for 2 weeks then gun season until Jan 10th. Limit is 10 does and 2 bucks but kills on state or federal wildlife management areas do not count to the total. Hal .... 3 a day, I thought Alabama was tops at one a day. Just hang on to the possibles bag for a day or two, I still have your drinking horn and it would be a good excuse for me and LT to ride the bikes up.

Our bow season starts 25 Sept.Last gun hunt ends 9 Jan.

They broke up the state into three units: A,B, and L
Unit L,which I live in,is being allowed the really large harvests.
6 for the bow season
6 for the muzzleloading season
then 3/day for the regular gun season 20 Nov.-5 Dec. and 18 Dec-9 Jan.

Only allowed 3 bucks total for the state but other than that you are also allowed whatever the limits are called for in the other units if you want to hunt there also.WMA's, Fed. refuges, and Ft. Campbell deer are (mostly)considered bonus deer.

Frankly I haven't been able to figure just what the legal limit is,but I'm pretty sure I'd die if I tried to drag even a small fraction of them all in the same year.

Post I'm moving!

You guys sure have liberal limits on game. Just one deer or elk in this state unless you get into a special draw. I'm moving in with Ron!

Default Deer

even with the limits like they are, Texas still looses over 100,000 deer due to starvation each year.
Keith? what will we do with my wife.

Several years ago, here in the People's Republic of Massachusetts, they opened up deer hunting on the land surrounding the Quabbin Reservoir in the central part of the state because of the starvation issue. To protest the "slaughter" some idiot woman put on a brown jump suit, literally tied deer antlers on her head, and started jogging around the woods intentionally trying to get shot. Fortunately, for both her and some poor slob hunter who may have actually done it, she was stopped by game wardens. I'm all for conservation and the environment but I'll be damned if I would sacrifice myself over any species, never mind one that's not on the endangered list.
