Exclamation Death By Rumor!

Well, the Saudis may finally be regaining a bit of their lost sanity, but whether this translates into lower gas prices is anyone?s guess?!

It would seem that our camel and Rolls Royce riding brethren of the Oasis-Dome, may soon begin to pump several million more gallons of oil (daily) from beneath their desert sands, or so says the media? The effects of this fuel infusion, however, will not be visible at the pumps for a few months, says the powers that be - say just before election time!

Hey, I have a great idea - we can lower fuel prices immediately by tapping into the Naval Oil Reserves (Elk Hills)! This should tide us over until the Arab Oil begins to arrive. Of course, it won't do much for those heavily invested in futures!?

Of course, the savings will be but a fraction of the gouging, and how long it lasts (again) is anyone?s guess? Maybe to about mid or late November, after elections and just in time for winter fuel oil needs!?

Well, all of this is but pure conjecture and speculation, but this speculation is nowhere near as deadly as that conducted by the wheelers and dealers in ?Black Gold or Texas Tea?, if you prefer!

What gets me to thinking the most, however, is the fact that even a rumor can have fuel prices shooting through the roof in minutes, whereas, the promise of millions of gallons more in production have solicited this comment from big oil:

?It will take some time for this new oil to reach the American consumer, and as such, prices will not go down during this (so-called) transition period. As a matter of fact, do not be surprised if the price per gallon continues to rise, especially out here on the Shaky-Side!? After all, summer holidays are soon to be upon us, and there still may be a drop or two of blood left in the old turnip?!

I personally feel that a full investigation into big oil should be forthcoming immediately, and if anyone is found guilty of price gouging, or price-fixing (top to bottom), they should be exposed, stripped of their ill-gotten goods and incarcerated on Devils Island, where the only gas to be had, is in the old, French-built outhouses! (One Man?s Opinion)!

Default HARDCORE...

Re. "(One Man's Opinion)!" ,..."That ain't necessarily so". Multiply that by many millions Rick,...and I'm pretty-sure you might be much closer to the actual number.

Unfortunately my friend, the many millions alluded to simply don't have your very same balls needed for confronting or holding to task our political lords and masters and/or permitters of such normally grand scale public rip-offs.

That's truly too bad, since OUTRAGE by many millions is what's truly needed for stopping America's quite many politically condoned Public Rip-offs.

Still, and in fairness to both Federal and State Big Brothers, you must admit that high fuel or energy prices must be of great financial assistance for those governing and ruling We Peasants and/or rabble. After all, one must believe that Taxewise both Federal and State Big Brothers pick-up much more in taxes from a TWO DOLLAR gallon of gasoline percentage-wise,...than from a ONE DOLLAR gallon of gasoline.

Besides, what better way for everyone to kick-in and help subsidize all foreign nationals here in America, here legally or otherwise? Hey,...most everyone drives or heats their homes somehow.

Default

Clinton tried to regulate gas prices by releasing oil from the reserves (which is against the law but the way) and it failed. The price of gas only dropped a couple of cents.
