I have looked at it both ways and this is my conclusion: Vice: Normally referred to as an addiction or prostitution. Im gonna stick with the prostitute. Now can we reverse her.....I dont think so. Vise: A clamp....Can we reverse it, "Yes" This how we ended up with the phrase. Vise-Versa Now lets go back to the word incontinent. You have to admit the two Tennessians (Doc Fred & Doc Hal) definitely put some humor into it....It was almost as good as "JEET" Bob K

"Incontinent" means what Hal said, being in-country.
If you reverse the prostition allegory, and it can get gory, she pays you. If you reverse the vise situation, you unloosen, and when taken to the extreme, means you fall apart. Kinda like the Big Bang Theory bassackwards. Now is that clear?
