Legal Eagles - In Business For Themselves?

A class action suit that was brought against some well-known industry giants has proven again that the law and justice are as alien to each other as the gnat and the golden eagle!

EPDM, a compound that is suppose to keep rubber from cracking, is at the center of this particular class action, if I read correctly? This material itself, however, is secondary (in my opinion) to what is being done with the proposed settlement!

Now anyone who can read knows about frivolous lawsuits. They also know that some lawyers file numerous actions in which the only beneficiary is themselves! But how about a huge legal action where, not the victims but rather the judge, determines who gets the benefits?

Try this on for size -

A California class action that targeted several international giants for price fixing etc. was settled, but instead of the victims of this (business as usual) rip-off being compensated, the judge in the case has reserved the right to hand over the big bucks settlement to charity?

Now I ask you, with all of the news in the last few years about some of these charities benefiting naught but themselves and their affluent life styles, and the fact that some of these charities are raking in from 25% to 90% or more in (so-called) administrative costs, do you think that a judge (any judge) has the mandate or the right to merely hand over a class action settlement to charity and not the rightful owners (victims)?

Well, considering the fact that the will of the majority no longer means anything in our society, and laws can be overturned at will, and a legal vote can be declared unconstitutional on a whim or vested decree, then nothing should come as a surprise!

If we ever again do acquire a government to whom the people are paramount, it will take a full term just to undo the damage that has been heaped upon us in the past few years alone! And of course, should this occur, those who benefited greatly from all of this vested activity will scream to the high heavens, as they care not about the common welfare. ?After all, they feel that they stole our rights and our sovereignty fair and square, and that is that?"

So who again is the bigger fool - the fool who sticks a knife in our backs for personal gain, or the fool who helps these social assassins by twisting said knife in his own back? And when, pray tell, has our government, our bureaucracy, and all who benefit there-from, been in business strictly for themselves and not on behalf of the people who instilled these bonvivants within positions of power and trust?

?May God help us in our quest for ongoing survival, as far too many of our leaders are falling down on the job!?
