Newman Compound
was located in the Gia Dinh Province of Vietnam. My unit the 525th MI GP was stationed there. This was my first tour in nam from Sep 67 to Sep 68. 525th MI Gp was awarded the medal in early 1965 before the big build up and the use of American forces for offensive operations in Vietnam.
