Lost
Hello Brothers
I used to post on the old forum as grunt* and got lost on patrol but learned from one of the guys that everyone came to this base camp.I've been pretty busy as an honor guard member with my local VVA chapter and just trying to do what I can to promote a positive image of nam vets to the public. I would like to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving ! Regards, Masher (formerly grunt*) 1st Cav,1970

...just curious ... how many Vietnam vets you have active inb VVA in your area? What percentage would you estimate? Whta's your secret for bring them out? ... if you have one.
Around here, we're lucky to get more than four or five to turn out for much of anything. Granted ... Idaho has far fewer Vietnam vets than most states (simply 'cuz we have fewer people) but you'd think more would be willing to show ... The Old Sarge

Thanks everyone for the welcome.Sarge as to your question about our chapter (BTW, we're on the web Beaver Co. Chapter 862 ,you can find it by typing in the before mentioned name)We
have about 180 members now and we're the fastest growing chapter in the nation ! How we get our members is by being real involved in community affairs. We brought the "moving wall" this year to Beaver, Pa and it attracted alot of attention. We also held a "Rolling Thunder" bike run which had approx 1800 riders ! We formed an Honor/Color guard which is very active in parades and memorial services around our county. In this area,Nam vets are very tight and so its not real hard to get the word out and they answer the call. Well, best wishes to you in your area and mainly don't give up. Regards masher Nam 1970
