My son-in-law has a 1966.
He bought garage elevator from California, put it together and in the winter keeps Mustang up so another car parks under it. Art

I had the priviledge of working on the 289 assembly line in '65 before being laid off and enlisting and as I remember it there were only two different Mustang 289's unless you considered the California engine a seperate entity all together. There was the two barrel and then the four barrel version. The 210 and 271 horse was what the dyno room reported after hot test. If dyno wanted even more they could always go to the block, cylinder head, crankshaft and camshaft lines to get perfectly matched, oversized boars on the engine block, regrind the valve seats on the heads, high lift, long duration camshafts, and grooved crankshafts. They could oversize the jets in the carburator and throw oversized cores in the castings of the intake manifold. If you wanted a "trick" engine anytime you made sure that dyno had a hand in its assembly, balance and hot test.
Once upon a time I had a 410 horse, 5.0 litre under the hood of a Cougar which was "factory showroom stock."

I guess Ford is wrong then, They say there was a 225 hp version (of which I used to own one) and the 2 bbl version was 200 hp.(my parents owned one of these,)
Shelby's version was 306 hp |

If you want to open one blocked window, just hold down the ctrl key when you click.
It does not change your settings and you can do it as often as you want. Joy
