My first serious bike was a Triumph 650 that was rigged for desert racing. Since that time I have owned Harleys and now got a BMW R1200 Classic. It?s somewhat a Harley look alike but handles totally differently I mean way different. I?ve got Harley grooved on the brain so riding this new one takes a very deliberate conscious effort or it will buck me off for sure. I?m a Sunday morning rider and that?s about it. And I stick to rural roads mostly. When the traffic picks up, I park it and call it a ride. The Harley I sold had 12,000 miles and I bought it new in 1992, so that is kind of a statement about my level of riding. At a time I did Harley group rides but those just seem to go from watering hole to watering hole and I?m not into riding and drinking at all so I just go riding with a friend or so and that?s good enough for me.

I always dress for the occasion with a quality helmet, leathers and proper foot ware and keep an eye on everything. When the deer get moving around I don?t ride where the deer are hanging out, nope. Amway, I enjoy riding but keep a huge dose of sanity about it all.

Default Larry

I new a Larry once. Machine-gunner, nicest guy you ever want to meat untill one bullet hit the ground, then you don't want to be any where around him. 6foot 8 inch tall 325 lbs.
Anyway.
Motorcycles. I have been riding for a long time, Got a V-Max in the garage now.
Best advice I can give is belive every one is out to run you down. Everyone. Then drive like you belive it. 4,000 lbs beats 500 lbs any day of the week.
A bike can be a great feeling but when that little old lady pulls out from a side street, because she didn't see you, and tries to run you down, refur back to my advice.

Default I got my Road name

"Torch" from all most burning to death[70% 3rd degree burns] from a cracked gas tank on a 650 Triumph chopper in 85. As soon as I was physically able I was back riding. Like all old riders I've learned the lessons some the hard way but I do ride with the thought that every 4 wheeler is going to do something that will kill me. So I pay attention.Kinda like walking point. But If I do die on my bike I will go out doing something that I love as much as life itself and that's not a bad way to go. I've been riding for about 35 yrs and when I can't keep my Harley FXR up on two wheels I'll make into a trike. Riding is the only therapy I have found for my PTSD that works. Ride to Live and Live to Ride is not just a saying to me. Keep your knees in the breeze and between the ditchs. Psyco-Vet Torch :cl:
