Had lunch today with an old friend

I had lunch today with an old friend. Glenda and her family were friends of our family when we were growing up. I use hunt and fish with her brothers when I was a kid. We met at a funeral and had lunch together. Glenda's husband was in the Marines during Vietnam and was killed in action. We talked about that briefly. She has a book that will be coming out in a few months on the ordeal of being a Vietnam Widow. From talking with her I think it will be a good book. I invited her to join us on Patriotfiles. I'm sure she will. I told her tell you all that she was a friend of mine. When she comes on line: Be nice!

The last time I saw her was when I had just gotten out of the Army and her husband had been dead for about six months. I was overcome with guilt, I had served but I was home and had a new bride. It just didn't seem fair. Anyway if or should I say when Glenda joins us give her a warm welcome.
