Default Something to ponder while your convalescing

I'm not an economist but I wonder what would happen if American devalued its currency by 50%. Everyone would have twice as much money and the labour market would be jumping cause things could be manufactured at home at a cheaper rate.

I don't know if this is logical or whether it would create a world revolt against the USA. But people would have jobs, wouldn't they?

What do you think Hardcore or Neil?

Mrs. Hardcore,
Being sick with the flu only gives him more time to play on the keyboard with us unless he's too sore to sit up or you're keeping the keyboard too far away from him.
Hey Hardcore, hope you feel 100% soon because the flu sucks and we need you right here. We'll be thinking of you bro and praying for a quick recovery for you too.
Hey Roy (Mash), Send me some of that Southern Comfort will you? I need to forget about the VA yesterday and only Southern something will do it.

Default HARCORE...

Get well soon, since you can't let those self/clique-serving low-lifes have too long a respite.

Wazza,
Not an economist either, I'm not really sure how to address your suggestion.

So, and from Public Sector and The Poor perspectives I must believe that any devaluation would be alright. After all, whatever the actual value of The American Dollar is or becomes,...you can-bet-your-bottom-dollar that the entire Public Sector and The Poor will come-out alright, since the entire population always contributes (and quite generously at that), so that both such on The Public Dole fair well and eat well (the norm).

Besides, when EVERYONE perpetually kicks-in for ones livelihood and well being,...why on earth would one even care about the value of a dollar? EVERYONE knows that "They" will automatically receive pay raises or pay adjustments,...as decreed.

For The Rich of either The Public Sector or The Private Sector, there's no reason for any concern. They can just switch to Swiss Francs and such. However, and for The Middle Class Workers of The Private Sector,...it's a whole different story, which just doesn't compute for me.

I just can't believe that The Average Americans of The Private Sector would gleefully accept that their bank holdings would be worth half-as-much, their pays and retirements (Social Security inclusive) would be worth half-as-much, or even that the money in their pockets would be worth half-as-much.

Whatever Wazza, and except for The Public Sector Types, The Rich and The Poor, I can see no benefit to: "We The (Schnooks)" of The Private Sector and/or PAYERS FOR EVERYTHING.

Neil
