my 2nd son loves to paint. acrylics are his fav's. let me see if i have a copy of the painting that was hung at the Mendel Art Gallery here last Easter for the School 2002 display thing. It was among a bunchof selections from his school, then it had to be juried from the gallery! We were so proud! He walked on air for weeks! lolol He is almost 13 now.

Acrylics are my favorite - not quite as fun as oil - but they dry in a couple hours, tops... not three days at a minimum. Don't get to as much as I would like. EVERYONE in my fam. has a painting or two to hang on their wall.

He did this at 13?! Looks great. Reminds me of an Eastern artist - Jiang... does lots of abstract animals.

I like watercolor too - but it seems like my wash layers always end up turning into mud.

we had the above painting professionally framed... OMG I will not do that again! eekkkk the cost was over $100cdn! looks awesome though. The painting had been cut around so it is on a black background mat with a angle cut black mat (shows a white angle edge) and in a simple black frame. Gorgeous!

hmm - this all sounds strangely familiar... maybe he'll go to college and then enter the Canadian Military and then quit drinking pop. I'm sure the rest of his story from there will unfold greatly!
