Default A Culture Of Corruption!

That's what it appears we have now in Washington.

A Culture of Corruption.

Corruption as a rule is certainly non-partisan. The argument is not there. It is however with describing this recent onslaught of egregious corruption as non-partisan in an attempt to share the blame with both parties, when there is only one party in control.

Another problem though is with a talk show host with a nationwide audience (and apparently overblown influence with some folks) hosting an hour long program with the sole apparent purpose of misleading Americans.

Randy Cunningham was a Republican Congressman. He swore to this country he was innocent. He broke down in tears when he was caught accepting over 2.4 million dollars in bribes including a yacht and a Rolls Royce. And a person like Rush Limbaugh characterizes this as a ?mistake.? A mistake is losing your car keys, or forgetting to pick up milk and bread at your local grocery store, not accepting 2.4 million dollars in bribes. While we can expect such inane drivel from a man who has no soul left to sell such as Rush, it is the ?mainstream? media that is where the danger lies. They continue to 'under-report' these instances and thus allow the 'under the rug' atmosphere to florish!

Bill Frist, the top Republican in the Senate is under investigation for insider trading. For five years Frist insisted his ownership of stock in HCA was not a conflict of interest even though he was leading the charge for health care reform in the Senate. Then in June of this year he dumped all 18 million dollars of stock only to see the value of the stock lose 9% one month later. When asked about it in September he claimed he sold the stock to avoid any appearance of conflict of interest. Yeah, right!

Tom Delay has so many ethical lapses it would take a book not a paragraph to document them. The top Republican in the House is currently under indictment and has been previously admonished three times by his own party. That does not even begin to scratch the surface of the man who once claimed that HE was the constitution. His association with M. Scanlon (his former top aide) who has 'cut a deal' with Federal Prosecutors will now begin to undo the web of corruption spun by the other crook involved with Delay, Jack Abramoff.

Dick Cheney?s top man, Scooter Libby is currently under indictment for five felonies. Karl Rove, Bush?s top guy is facing the same, or the possibility of cutting a deal. They are tied up in a scandal of the outing of a covert CIA operative for political revenge. The agent in question was actually working on WMD issues, ironically the lie they used to start this war with Iraq. The underlining scandal here is the fact that this administration willfully lied to take this country into a war (I am NOT speaking about Afganistan, that WAS justified, and is where we should have kept our sights on the target in THAT area, not Iraq) that has cost the lives of over 2,000 American soldiers and more than 100,000 Iraqi?s.

These are not just some Republicans, these are the leaders of the party and they represent the vilest form of corruption, a violation of the public trust. In the case of the outing of Valerie Plame, the corruption involves a violation of national security. Frist, Delay, Libby, Rove, Bush, Cheney, Cunningham, Scanlon, Abramoff? what?s the theme we see here folks?

That?s right, they are all Republicans! Most are top Republicans! This is the 'theme' of the "NEW" Republicans I've been hollering about for more than TEN (10) years now!

The current state of the "New" Republican Party can only be described as a culture of corruption. Everyone knows this very well, which is why it's time for the "good" Republicans, the "old" type Republicans that even I once voted for and was proud to do so, start admitting it and throwing these unscrupulous misfits out on their asses!

Hopefully that will be the opinion of many more folks as well.
