Default Postures of Pretended Patriotism

Guard against the postures of pretended Patriotism.

--George Washington

Democracy is a very simple principle, and those who speculate about its meaning are those not quite willing to accept it.
The dictionary defines it as "the rule of the people." Not much more need be said about it.

Talking Don't they all do it!

Way the flag! Play the music! Make the speeches!

But all they want is to be elected for their own glory.

Sad but true.

They all do it, but which are really patriotic. If you don't do it then you can't get elected. So how do we know the difference?
