DD-

The boar pic. came from a hunting operation 25-30 miles down the road near Lynchburg Tn. (where they make Jack Daniels whiskey). Can't say for a fact whether or not pic. was fiddled with, but I know they've weighed in hogs in the 600-800Lb. range. The deer, turkey, and fish were shot/caught by my boy or me. Expect to be bringing venison, fish, and maybe turkey (if there's any left) along to chew on at the campout.

Doc... I was not doubting you... was just having a bit of fun
The photo I attached in my last post was supposed to be a monstrous 12-foot and is said to have had 9-inch tusks, weighing in at 1009-pound swine, appropriately named “Hogzilla,” that had been shot in a swamp in Georgia, shot by an eleven year-old in Alabama in May 2006 or 07.
Georgia and Alabama part does not make sense to me???

Listen to the Audio, it follows after the add
http://www.npr.org/templates/player/...737&m=10518738

Dinosaurs are big lizards that existed millions of years ago.
Godzilla is a big, radioactive, cinema creature that exists in moving pictures.
Hogzilla was a giant wild hog that roamed the forests of Georgia.

God killed the dinosaurs ( somehow).
Better special effects killed Godzilla.
A redneck shot and killed Hogzilla.

The Ballad of Hogzilla

Lyrics by Dick Marti Tifton, GA

They got a half-ton hog near Lapahaw town,
big enough to bring a man down,
big enough to bring ten men down,
big boar hog live' down by the river,
mess with him an' he'll eat your liver.
eat your liver, eat your liver.

(chorus) Big boar hog live' down by the river,
mess with him an' he'll eat your liver.
But he’ll stay in the woods if you’ll stay in the town. (sung low)
Better be careful 'roun' Lapahaw town. (sung high, with ‘caaaaaaare’- stretched out)
Hogzilla! Hogzilla! (stretch out the hog: hoggggggggggggg-zill-a)
Bigger than a dadburned g'rilla,
meaner than ol' Godzilla!

Two guys in the woods where they didn belong,
stirred up the nest of an ol' mother hog,
chased off her litter with an ol' houn' dog,
up an' shot a piglet with a thirty-oh-six,
went an’ put themselves in a helluva fix.
Strung up the piglet at the edge of the woods,
took his pitcher and dug his grave,
stuck out their chests and thought they was brave.
Said they’d be back to dig up the bones,
covered up the spot with dirt and stones.
Didn know 'bout the ol' boar hog,
didn see him swaller the ol' houn' dog.
swaller the ol’ houn’ dog.
didn see him swaller the ol' houn' dog.

(chorus) He got nine-inch tusks to slice you up.
He got big choppers to chop you up.
He got the hunger to swaller you down.
Swaller you down, swaller you down.
He got the hunger to swaller you down.

(chorus) Ain't no such thing as animal sin,
but he' got the will to do you in,
he' got the power to take you down.
And on this here spot where you stand,
wont be nothin left but bloody sand,
bloody sand, bloody sand,
an’ maybe some gut an’ part of a hand.

(chorus) Half ton hog live' down by the river,
eatin' up gaters and snakes.
He don’t worry ‘bout animal sin.
But he' got the will to do you in.
He' got the power to take you down.
Take you down, take you down,
he’ got the power to take you down.

Footnote The heaviest hog in history, A Poland China hog Big Bill, weighed 2,552 pounds. Was owned by Burford Butler of Jackson, Tennessee, in 1933

Default Larry...

BobK and Hal will be there on the 24th along with me. We are the advance landing party. I can get there with my eyes closed....but can't tell you how to get there from Memphis. Bob or Hal would be better, or, of course, Sid and John. Sorry buddy.

Sorry about Memphis. Was hoping for NC and Memphis to fight it out. Screw Kansas. Dam Yankee's.

'Spect I'll be there before noon on Thrusday but I'm cummin from just a couple hours SOUTH of the mountain and the van knows the way. I just tell it to take me to the funny farm and the next thing I know is I'm on top of the mountain.
P.S. DD FYI, The hog was killed in Brooks, Georgia which is in Fayette County about eight miles south of here and it was an eleven year old kid that got it and left it in his front yard for his dad to take care of. Here in Fayetteville about the only thing I've seen is we had a black bear a couple years ago two doors down that the local constabulary took care of. Some owls, a few foxes, and bunches of deer. When we moved here in '94 there was a herd of Buffalo on a farm just down the road. Road kill is dinner around here often and a deer won't be left on the road for long if the person that hit it doesn't get it. Boyd Barner drives clunkers that he goes hunting with and the car gets replaced as soon as any deer wins the battle.
