Polar bear jump

It is once again time to brave the frigid waters of one of our local lakes. The local Polar Bear Club is once again doing its 10th annual jump. The donations go to local kids who need medical assistance.

This club started 10 years and 12 jumpers raised $1,200.00. Last year 115 jumpers raised $115,315.00.

The jump is cut into a lake with about 15-20" of ice. About 30' long and about 20' wide. We jump off a set of ice blocks two high and swim across the open waters.

Yeah, we're a bit nuts but you have to maintain a little bit of offcenteredness to keep your sanity.
