Injured South Florida Marine Comes Home
POSTED: 7:40 a.m. EDT May 14, 2003 UPDATED: 9:17 a.m. EDT May 14, 2003 A South Florida Marine shot in combat in the war in Iraq returned to a hero's welcome and a mom wearing military fatigues Tuesday night. Robert Pavone was injured during fighting just outside Baghdad. A bullet struck him in the left cheek, tore through his trachea and exited behind his left ear. Pavone's left side was left partially paralyzed. But Tuesday night at Miami International Airport he walked off the plane with the help of a cane and into the arms of family and friends. Despite everything he's been through, Pavone said he'd do it all again if he had to. Copyright 2003 by Click10.com. Sempers, Roger
